Buenos Aires, jueves 24 septiembre (PR/26) — La Conferencia Episcopal Argentina (CEA) presentó Argentina con el Papa León como la canción oficial para la próxima visita del papa León XIV al país, tras un proceso de discernimiento en el que participaron composiciones enviadas desde distintas comunidades de todo el territorio argentino.
La convocatoria reunió canciones interpretadas por niños, jóvenes, adultos y comunidades de diversos puntos del país, con ritmos y acentos propios de cada región, todas recibidas y evaluadas en absoluto anonimato.
La organización subrayó que la cantidad de obras recibidas y el empeño de sus autores reflejan «la alegría y los deseos de recibir al Santo Padre como pueblo».
Una elección tras el discernimiento
Al anunciar la obra elegida, la CEA explicó que la selección demandó un tiempo de discernimiento, dada la calidad y diversidad de las composiciones recibidas.
Los organizadores manifestaron su deseo de que «todos los argentinos podamos sentirnos expresados en ella y la cantemos con mucho gozo» durante las actividades preparatorias de la visita papal.
Un patrimonio para las comunidades
Además, propusieron que las parroquias y demás espacios pastorales generen instancias para compartir las distintas canciones creadas con motivo del viaje apostólico, para que «no se pierda lo que con tanto cariño se realizó».
La canción oficial, «Argentina con el Papa León», fue compuesta por Gabriel Alejandro Moyano Angelini y Agustín Moyano Angelini.

Buenos Aires, Thursday, September 24 (PR/26) — The Argentine Bishops’ Conference (CEA) presented Argentina with Pope Leo as the official song for the upcoming visit of Pope Leo XIV to the country, following a discernment process in which compositions submitted from different communities across the entire Argentine territory took part.
The call brought together songs performed by children, young people, adults, and communities from various parts of the country, with rhythms and accents characteristic of each region, all received and evaluated in complete anonymity.
The organization emphasized that the number of works submitted and the dedication of their authors reflect “the joy and the desire to welcome the Holy Father as one people.”
A choice made after discernment
Upon announcing the selected piece, the CEA explained that the decision required a period of discernment, given the quality and diversity of the compositions received.
The organizers expressed their hope that “all Argentines may feel represented in it and sing it with great joy” during the preparatory activities for the papal visit.
A heritage for the communities
They also encouraged parishes and other pastoral spaces to create opportunities to share the different songs composed for the apostolic visit, so that “what was created with such affection is not lost.”
